Work
What I see is not what I get all the time. The translation from the eye to the hand and then to the canvas can come out vastly different. Somewhere in between that transition many different elements can come into play. That original scene of blue skies and pastorial fields that I started with can become something else. That blue sky could be a fantastic red sunset that I memorized from last year and the green fields could become part of a mirrored pond from a photo in a magazine I just saw.
A tree that was on the right could go on the left or eliminate it completely. It becomes a composition that I try to design,
by blending all the elements together with color and light.
For me it’s all part of a process.
